The evening shoe is defined by its often sophisticated, formal and red carpet-worthy aesthetic. Think satin pumps in jewel tones, diamond brooch toes, rich embroidery, sparkling glitter, textured fur and jewel-encrusted heels. Traditionally such a shoe would be reserved for special occasions but this spring its working back with some unexpected street styling.
No longer exclusive to Oscar worthy ensembles, the PM shoe for day works best with masculine style dressing. Try a crisp white shirt with cropped trousers, straight leg jeans or luxe sweats. For a more eclectic look, try mixing with a full midi skirt and socks.
This spring, forget the polite flats, timeless slides and sensible sandals – it’s all about show stopping heels. You’ll have to excuse us as we slip into something a little more uncomfortable but oh so fabulous, the evening shoe.
